A food allergy to corn will also include cornflour in baked goods. If you are cooking for your food allergic child and a recipe calls for cornflour the following can be used as a substitute:
- 1/2 cup honey = 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup sugar + 2 tbsp water = 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- Arrowroot powder = cornflour
- Tapioca powder = cornflour
