Baked goods containing milk may be the answer for those with milk allergy.
A New York based study suggests that children with a milk allergy will get over their milk allergy quicker if exposed to cooked milk products, rather than avoiding milk completely.
Apparently, when milk is cooked the protein molecules change lessening the immune system's reaction. The study showed that when the children with milk allergies ate baked goods containing milk (such as muffins), their allergic reactions were lessened.
Over the space of months or years, the allergic symptoms disappeared faster than for those children who avoided milk altogether. In order for clinical trials to be carried out, more research is necessary.
The study contradicts what professionals have advised in the past.
Parents of allergic children are warned that this treatment only be carried out under strict medical supervision
